Mojokerto, Al-Amin – Students, alumni, staff members, and the extended family of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Mojokerto participated in the Haul Akbar Masyayikh event, which also commemorated the 26th anniversary of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Mojokerto, on Friday evening (July 24, 2026).

The annual event, held in the courtyard of the Al-Amin Putra Islamic Boarding School, began at 7:30 p.m. WIB. Alumni from various classes and regions arrived to participate in the Haul celebration and to connect with the extended family of their alma mater.

The presence of the students and alumni ensured a solemn atmosphere for the annual event. The congregation followed all the events in an orderly manner and with full respect for the deceased masyayikh and founder of the Islamic boarding school.

A number of descendants from the pesantren's predecessors also attended the event, including the late KH. Abul Aziz and the late KH. Mas'ud Yunus. The presence of the founders' families further strengthened the family atmosphere and reverence for the efforts of the ulama who laid the foundation of education at the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School.

The event began with the recitation of tahlil (recitation of the Koran), dhikr (remembrance of God), and a communal prayer dedicated to the masyayikh, founders, and predecessors who had contributed to the journey of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School.

The solemn atmosphere continued when the Caretaker of the Al-Mahrusiyah Lirboyo Kediri Islamic Boarding School, KH. Reza Ahmad Zahid, also known as Gus Reza, delivered a mauidhah hasanah (good Islamic sermon) before thousands of congregants. In his sermon, Gus Reza emphasized the importance of maintaining good manners for students, particularly respecting teachers and ulama.

According to him, the relationship between students and teachers does not end with the learning process in the classroom or the Islamic boarding school environment. Respect for teachers is also demonstrated through prayer, maintaining their good name, passing on good values, and practicing the knowledge they have been given.

Gus Reza also explained that the Haul (anniversary) celebration should not be understood as merely a ceremonial activity. It can be a moment for students and alumni to commemorate the services of their teachers and strengthen their spiritual bonds with their predecessors.

"Respecting the scholars and praying for our predecessors is a means of channeling blessings into our lives," Gus Reza stated to the congregation.

The 26th anniversary commemoration also served as a moment to reflect on the journey of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School over more than two decades, providing educational and religious guidance for its students.

The 26th anniversary marks the institution's long journey in maintaining the Islamic boarding school's scholarly traditions while embracing the changing times.

The series of activities then concluded with a prayer led by Gus Reza. Prayers were also offered for the extended family of the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School, from the caretakers, students, teachers, staff, and alumni, to ensure continued health, steadfast faith, blessings in life, and beneficial knowledge.

The Haul Akbar Masyayikh, which also marked the 26th anniversary of the Islamic boarding school, became not only an annual event for the boarding school, but also a space for prayer, friendship, respect for teachers, and the spirit of continuing the struggle of the masyayikh to the next generation.
